"Everything breaks on the cobblestones"
mixed media on wood panel
46"x 32"

Sisters Lisa and Jenny Pfeiffer create paintings that combine Lisa's paintings with Jenny's silk-screened photographs on wood panels. The work is inspired by the poems of Paul Poissel, from the book "Facts of Winter". The poems are about dreams of people who may or may not have lived in and around Paris in the 1880s.

Lisa and I moved into a new studio last year and our work has moved on as well. With more space comes more ideas. Lisa and I have always been inspired by our own crazy dreams so it was effortless to adapt Poissel's poems with our imaginations. Dreams have the possibility to go anywhere and do anything, a concept Lisa and I have always felt close to.
